Educational Planning for Post-SEE Students


Lots of students got confused about “What after SEE?” Basically we have two option after SEE.

  1. Technical/ Vocational Education
  2. General Education

Technical/ Vocational Education

In Technical/ Vocational Education there are many of the technical study after completion of which we got the job instantly in the market. There are some of the Technical and vocational study actually exist in Nepal they are.

Junior welding 2 years
Junior mechanical technician 2 years
Junior Electrical Technician 2 years
Diploma in agriculture (plant/ animal science) 3 years
Diploma in food/ Diary technology 3 years
Diploma in Civil, Survey, computer, Mechanical, Electrical, electronics & communication, Automobile 3 years
Health Assistant/ PCL nursing 3 years
ANM 15 Months + 3 OJT
Auxiliary Ayurvedic Health worker 1+ 6 OJT
Acupuncture 2 years
Dental Hygienist 2+5 month OJT
Hotel Management 1+6 OJT
Office Management 1+3 OJT

So, these are the existing vocational and technical studies currently available in Nepal and some of these study can be continued for further study and some of doesn’t. It means we can do bachelor study of some of these courses like diploma in civil, Survey, Computer, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Automobile and PCL nursing and further study of some courses are not available.


General Education

One of the Popular Study after SEE is General Education and 99% of student chose General Education in Nepal after SEE. Further study is possible in General Education. There are many Educational Board Province General Education and they are:

PCL Level Nursing (Proficiency Certificate Level in Nursing)

CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education)

IB (International Baccalaureate)

A Levels (Cambridge University)

+2 (NEB –former HSEB)

These are currently exist board providing General Education in Nepal.


PCL Level Nursing (Proficiency Certificate Level in Nursing)

It is affiliated to CTEVT. It of 3 years’ time duration and entry requirement is minimum Grade C in SEE in English, Math & Science with GPA 2. The graduates will be eligible for the position equivalent to Non-gazette 1st class (technical) as Staff Nurse or as prescribed by the Public Service Commission of Nepal. The graduate will be eligible for registration/take examination in Nursing Council. The graduates are eligible to go for Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent Course as per university rule.


CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education)

A board which follows universal pattern is the first choice for parents with transferable jobs. CBSE affiliates all Kendriya Vidyalays, all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalays, private schools, and most of the schools approved by central government of India.

IB (International Baccalaureate)

The IB, formerly known as the international Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), is an international educational foundation headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland and found in 1968.


A Levels (Cambridge University)

A Levels is the programme running by Cambridge University which is again one international education board. Many of colleges in Nepal are running this programme and it is of 2 years’ time duration. British Council organize the Examination of A Levels programme in Nepal.

+2 (NEB –former HSEB)

This is the most popular Board for study after SEE in Nepal which is also known as the +2 programme. Most of the Colleges in Nepal runs this programme. Maximum number of SEE graduates go for this programme. In this programme we should choose for the faculty like:





Further study like BA, BBS, BE, BSc, Bed, BIM, BIT, BBA, MBBS, BDS, BSc CSIT, BCA are available for the general Education.
